Max Friedman was an American physicist. One of J. Robert Oppenheimer‘s bright young pupils at the University of California, Berkeley during the 1930s, Friedman’s career as a physicist was derailed by his leftist politics.
Nathan Sugarman (1917-1990) was a nuclear chemist who worked at both Los Alamos and the Chicago Met Lab during the Manhattan Project.

Harris Mayer, born in 1921, is an American physicist. During World War II, Mayer joined the Manhattan Project at Columbia University.
